ROSS II PROJECT ASSOCIATE/Family Support Specialist

 

 

SALARY LEVEL:  SCHEDULE A   LEVEL 7                                   AFSCME

 

DEPARTMENT:  RESIDENT SERVICES                             

 

SUPERVISOR:  ROSS Project Director or Designee

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

 

Under general supervision of the ROSS Project Director or designee, the ROSS Project Associate will be involved in all aspects of ROSS program delivery including:  assessing resident's needs for supportive services; making referrals to RHA staff and partner organizations; maintaining case files; and monitoring the progress of program participants.  The goal of the ROSS Program is to assist each participating family in reaching their self-sufficiency goals so that they become economically independent of welfare and housing assistance. 

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

 

  1. Assist in the articulation of goals for ROSS participants clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
  2. Coordinate services and handle problems of ROSS participants expeditiously and develop a spirit of teamwork among multi-agency personnel and participants.
  3. Maintain and keep current individual files on ROSS participants; compile required documentation in the completion of goals and objectives.
  4. Understands, articulates, and continues the development of RHA's five step ROSS Program.

  • Ability to work effectively in situations requiring independent judgment and performance and willingness to engage in continuing related training and education.
  • Must have exhibited good work records and attendance at previous jobs as attested by reference from previous and present employers or performance evaluation reports prepared by present and previous supervisors.
  • Proficient in oral and written communications.
  • Ability to maintain professional attitude during conflict and stressful situations.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license at all times and able to provide personal transportation.
  • Must be willing to occasionally transport residents by personal vehicle or RHA vehicle with (mileage reimbursement per RHA Policy).

 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  Associates Degree with emphasis in education, sociology, social work or a related field, with a combination of four (4) years working experience in education or social work, or

 

High School Diploma or equivalent with eight (8) years working experience in education, social work or a related field.

 

Social services background or experience desirable.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
